“In the Company of Women” is an interpretive series of paintings inspired by period images and documentation. I enjoy the challenge of going beyond the stillness of the historical portraits and sometimes limited historical material to create an expressive voice in the context of a modern painting.
“Beyond the Realm of Words” is a collection of visionscapes - places, objects, and figures that appear in my mind's eye and are based in imagination. These pieces provide an avenue for me to explore the relationship between defined and undefined, emotion, motion and gesture through various techniques and materials.
